Summertime means fewer blog posts~

We have been enjoying lots of pool time here in Virginia since it has been around 100 degrees for the last 3 days. Here are some of the things I have been working on:

I will not be posting on my blog quite as often this summer since my children are out of school and we are busy busy busy!

***Lucy's Closet will be taking some much needed vacation time in August so please plan ahead for those of you who want back to school clothes or backpacks. Please allow at least one month turn around time before your child's school starts.***

I hope all of you are staying cool and enjoying summer!

Last week of school

This is the last week of school and I have a feeling that juggling my work schedule is about to get very interesting! Here is a sample of things I have been doing since my last post.
I love this "pillowcase" style dress in the Michael Miller red Disco Dot fabric. This dress can also be made in the A-line style.

All of the tote bags in the 5 pictures above were brought to me by customers.

Relaxing

With one child done with preschool and another almost on summer vacation I have been a little slow to get this next post finished. I have been doing a lot of things this week that people have brought me, bags, towels, and more bags! I think most of them are teacher gifts. In the spirit of summer I want to recommend a book and a website. If you are looking for a wonderful book to read at the pool, I spent all last weekend finishing The Help, by Kathryn Stockett. It was wonderful and I couldn't put it down. If you are looking for craft ideas for yourself or your children this summer, I have the website for you! Modern Handmade Child - this online magazine is a great resource filled with ideas for crafters, adult and child.
Here are a few pictures from this week:
The towel above is from Target and I added the name.
Burp Cloth Set (2) - $15
Bloomers - $10, These can be done for any school.
Backpacks!!! I can add a name or monogram to a backpack for $5. The backpacks in the pictures above are from Lands End. I do sell backpacks in a variety of colors and my backpacks with monogram or name are $30 (picture below).

Summer is coming!

Only a few weeks of school is left until summer vacation!

I love these tote bags and they make wonderful gifts, for teachers and babies. I did about 10 of these this week and I still have 2 left.

One of the bags remaining is pink with kelly green alligators and the other is a light blue with navy blue whales.

Please email me if you are interested in either of these tote bags.

Here a few other things from this week:

Here is my lab dog applique again. this time I used a brown and blue plaid fabric and I love it!
