Also, for those of you who are regular customers...you might have noticed on appliqued t-shirts that there is a soft lining inside. It is called tender touch and it is there to protect your little ones skin from getting irritated when the shirt rubs against their skin. This is an iron on product and if it starts to peel off over time you can just run the iron over it (on wool setting) to reattach. A lot of times you will see this on children's pajamas or any of the appliqued clothes you see in Gymboree, Children's Place, etc. Sometime embroiderers do not use it but I think it is a nice extra touch.

Just had to post!
The great thing about making clothes for my nieces is that my sister gives me carte blanche to make almost anything I want for them. It really is my creative outlet to see if what is in my head will work once it is stitched out and sewn. I also love the extra cuteness of making twins outfits. I just had to post these shirts I did this morning because I LOVE THEM!!! I hope the girls do too. This monogram style is pretty popular these days and can be done on towels, dresses, tote bags and more. The large letter used for the last name is an applique and can be done using any fabric.

Let's here it for Summer Vacation!
Now that we are a week into summer, I have finally found my "work groove" and my kids have finally found their "how to play with each other groove". I think somewhere over this school year they forgot how much fun it can be to play with each other. It took a few days for the squabbling to subside but now we are all in sync...I'm sure I just jinxed myself! I have shifted my work day to the early mornings, before they get up and that seems to be working out well. I am still taking a smaller number of orders through the summer and I am not taking any rush orders. Here are a few pictures from Lucy's Closet:
Oh - and I might not have another post until after July 4th so I hope everyone has a great holiday!

One more week...
...until SCHOOL IS OUT FOR SUMMER!! I am busy these days making anything and everything to do with summer. As you can tell by these pictures:
My turnaround time might be extending this summer since my first priority is spending my days with my children. If you think you will want back to school clothes, please plan way ahead.
Thank you to all my customers for shopping at Lucy's Closet and for being so loyal!
